Leniajof requested that I write about Durer. So here it is! “Durer and the Man of Sorrows.” It was originally going to be a Short, but it made it to the “Feature Length” essays on the front page! It’s still short compared to my normal Feature Lengths, but I think it asks some important questions about the relationship and boundariesbetween self-representation, piety, and religious art.
